About this item
The kit converts the Multiphor™ II electrophoresis system into a horizontal electrophoretic transfer unit.
The electrodes are made of graphite to provide an even distribution of current across the entire surface. They are each attached to acrylic plates, so they do not touch each other when fitted together to prevent damage to the electrodes.
This method of semi-dry transfer provides fast and efficient protein transfer from a gel to an immobilizing membrane. The transfer takes less than an hour and does not require a cooling period at the end of the transfer. For smaller gels, the NovaBlot™ will accept up to four gels for simultaneous transfer by assembling two transfer sandwich stacks side by side. The resulting membranes may be used for applications including general protein staining, immunoblotting, and glycoprotein detection.
