TUNAIR™ Shake Flask Systems are a unique and patented flask and closure system designed for microbiology and biotechnology applications

The two piece cap assemblies are constructed of polypropylene and are resistant to most solvents. All caps and flasks are fully autoclavable and the filter linings can be autoclaved or replaced. All TUNAIR™ filter linings are 0.22 micron and are available in silicone or nitrocellulose. TUNAIR™ caps are available in four convenient colors: red, blue, green, and yellow. The working volume of the 300ml flask is 100ml and for the 2.5L flask is 1L. The shaker speed for a 1" throw is 300-400rpm or higher. The shaker speed for a 2" throw is 150-200rpm or higher. These shake flasks are made of polypropylene.

The 300ml TUNAIR™ Flask Kits include (12) polypropylene 300ml flasks (12) two-piece caps, and (15) filter linings.

The 2.5L TUNAIR™ Flask Kits include (4) polypropylene 2.5L flasks, (4) two-piece caps, and (5) filter linings.

This system provides optimum growth conditions for aerobic microorganisms, mammalian cells, and plant cells. The TUNAIR™ systems are designed to increase the availability of dissolved oxygen as well as improve cell yields. Three different flask designs are available depending on your application: The No-Baffle Flask (normal throw), The Half-Baffle Flask (2 Baffles with a Vortex Motion), and The Full-Baffle Flask (6 Baffles with a Propeller Motion). The slip on cap and filter linings protect the flask neck from airbourne particles and eliminate the need for flaming. All TUNAIR™ flasks, caps, and filters can be sterilized by autoclaving. The flasks and caps can be cleaned by soaking in water with a light detergent solution to loosen dirt and contaminants.
