- The standard ICP-MS torch is an easy-mount, one-piece quartz torch with 2.5 mm int.Ø injector, to ensure a robust plasma that efficiently decompose the sample matrix, minimizing matrix deposition, signal drift and routine maintenance
- The torch postitioning is maintained by the mounting bracket, ensuring consistent repositioning following routine maintenance or when switching torches
- The torch is then auto-aligned by the motorized torch box with software control to optimize X, Y and Z position
- The quartz torch is not suitable for samples containing hydrofluoric acid (HF), which will rapidly degrade quartz, for these applications select our demountable torches with sapphire and platinum injectors
The Agilent 7700, 7800, 7900, 8800 and 8900 ICP-MS plasma provides precise ion energy control. This ensures high sensitivity and effective interference removal in helium mode. Single-piece quartz torches offer the best stability and ease of use.
The large 2.5 mm injector on the standard torch gives maximum robustness and lowest matrix interferences for best plasma stability. Torches with narrow bore injectors (1.0 or 1.5 mm) are available for use with organic solvents, to reduce plasma loading, and improve plasma stability.
