About this item

Achromopeptidase, Crude, Lytic Enzyme (TBL-1) is a highly active bacteriolytic enzyme.

  • Appearance: powder (contains lactose)
  • Diluent: lactose as necessary
  • Most stable at pH value 6.0 and virtually stable at pH value 5.5 - 10.0

It is isolated from the soil bacterium Lysobacter enzymogenes M497-1 and has a higher activity and a wider bacteriolytic spectrum than lysozyme. This enzyme can be used for the preparation of protoplasts from actinomycetes. It has a broad specificity against Staphylococci, Streptococci, Clostridii, Leuconostoc and some gram-negative organisms.
