Dabigatran Etexilate Mesylate (DEM)  requires the use of a special wider basket for dissolution testing. This oversize clip style basket is larger than the standard USP Apparatus 1 basket and will not fit on to a standard basket hub. A special clip style hub/basket shaft must be used.
