About this item
Rat Neural Stem Cells (RNSC) are isolated from cerebral striatum and mesencephalon of E18 fetal rat brains.
- Each lot functionally characterized
- Cryopreserved at second passage
- Tested negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi
- Can be can be cultured and propagated for 1- 2 passages prior to induction of phenotypic differentiation
These cells are maintained in undifferentiated proliferative state by culturing them as free floating neurospheres in serum-free medium optimized with growth factors
Storage: Store cryopreserved vials in liquid nitrogen, growth medium at 4 °C in dark, subculture reagent kit at -20 °C and the reagents at 4 °C upon thawing.
Stem cells are multipotent and can be induced to differentiate into neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. Neural stem cells are a source of donor tissue for prospective neural cell therapy research given the ability of neurosphere to retain multi-lineage potential and proliferative ability in vitro.
Ordering information: Rat Neural Stem Cell Differentiation Medium and the Poly-D-Lysine with Laminin Coating Solution are available separately on request.
Delivery: Each kit contains an ampoule of cryopreserved RNSC, 250 mL of Rat Neural Stem Cell Growth Medium and two non-tissue culture treated 10 cm plates.
