Environmentally Preferable Products Program
Developing and delivering environmentally sustainable product solutions to Avantor’s customers is crucial to our sustainability efforts.
Our Environmentally Preferable Products (EPP) program helps our customers make informed, sustainable purchasing decisions by highlighting products that have achieved a reputable third-party or government sustainability certification in at least one EPP attribute category. These categories include products that offer improved energy and water efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable materials and packaging, health and environmental safety, product transparency and disclosure or reduced manufacturing impacts.
Avantor partners with suppliers to identify and evaluate products for the EPP program, including reviewing documentation that validates the product as a more sustainable alternative to other options. EPPs are searchable on Avantor’s e-commerce site, where they are identified by our EPP Green Leaf icon.
How Products Become EPP
All products must incorporate one or more of the sustainability attributes to qualify for the Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) green leaf designation. Each product claim is reviewed against a verification methodology that outlines the acceptable criteria which a product must fulfill in order to obtain the EPP designation.
How to Access EPP Products
All EPP products are searchable and identifiable via the green leaf icon. When available, the ability to filter under the Criteria tab for “Environmentally Preferable” will appear for each Product Category. Once the Environmentally Preferable box is selected, click “Refine Criteria” and all the EPP products for that category will be displayed.
