This general purpose wax, with a vapor pressure of 4.5x10–9 Torr at 20°C, softens between 80–90°C (176–194°F). Apply at 130°C (266°F). Apiezon® Wax W is used extensively as an etch resist and mounting media in the electronics industry. The wax resists etching fluids such as KOH, hydrofluoric, nitric, or acetic acid, yet is easily removed by hydrocarbon or chlorinated solvents.
