About this item

Sub-X® Clearing Agent is an economical xylene substitute that is an essentially odorless and non-greasy aliphatic hydrocarbon.

  • Economical
  • Odorless
  • Non-greasy aliphatic hydrocarbon
  • Much safer toxicity level than xylene
  • Safe to use with most plastics and tubing

It can be used in place of xylene for tissue processing, deparaffinization, clearing, and cleanup. Sub-X® is a gentle clearant which will not over-harden tissue specimens. The toxicity level is three times safer than xylene. This selective solvent is safe to use with most plastics and tubing in open and closed tissue processors.

A compatible mountant such as Sub-X® Mounting Medium must be used for coverslipping.
