ThawSTAR™ automated thawing system incorporates patent-pending STAR™ sensing technology for standardized thawing and recovery. Hand-free operation eliminates the guess work and subjectivity of determining the thawing end point.
Simply insert one standard 2.0 mL cryogenic vial and wait. When thaw is complete, vial is gently raised, enabling immediate removal for downstream processing. Highly reproducible thermal profiles mirror those obtained from a water bath without the variability and risk of contamination. Accepts vials from LN2 storage or freezers.
ThawSTAR CFT Transporter ("Transporter") is a portable solution for the handling and transport of frozen vials from long-term storage in vapor phase liquid nitrogen or in a -80°C freezer to downstream processing with the ThawSTAR automated cell thawing system. Prior to using the Transporter, a thin layer of dry ice is added to the bottom of the base. The round CoolRack® CFT module is placed over the dry ice and allowed to equilibrate to dry ice temperature (approximately 10 minutes). Frozen sample vials are then extracted from storage and quickly placed into the CoolRack module which is designed to maintain approximately -80°C sample temperature with the Transporter lid on for approximately one hour. Samples can then be transported to the ThawSTAR system and inserted into the cell-thawing module, one at a time, for downstream processing.
Single use ThawSTAR confirmation vials are available to insert into ThawSTAR™ Automated Cell Thawing System before and after each thaw session to document instrument performance and audit trail.
