It is the source of the bioactive lipids lysophosphatidylcholine, phosphatidic acid, diacylglycerol, lysophosphatidylcholine, plateletactivating factor, and arachidonic acid.
Leithin is used for preparation of vesicle, suspensions commonly called liposomes or as monolayers.
