Size exclusion chromatography at Avantor®
Avantor® offers size exclusion chromatography (SEC) columns to support the full range of chromatography techniques used by the analytical community.
SEC separates solution components by molecular size, with larger molecules eluting first. This technique can also be applied for characterizing the molecular weight distribution of polymers. Both silica- and polymer-based SEC columns are available.
Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) separates organic-soluble polymers/molecules using an organic solvent, while gel filtration chromatography (GFC) separates water-soluble polymers/molecules in aqueous solvents.
