About this item
MA5-11234 targets MMP-11 (Stromelysin-3) in IHC (P), IP, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The MA5-11234 immunogen is recombinant protein corresponding to active form of human MMP-11. Stromelysin, a member of the matrix metalloproteinase family, demonstrates wide substrate specificity with the ability to degrade proteoglycan, fibronectin, laminin, casein, and the nonhelical region of collagen. The stromelysin-3 (MMP-11) gene was originally identified on the basis that it is expressed specifically in stromal cells surrounding invasive breast carcinomas. MMP-11 is localized by in situ hybridization to the long arm of chromosome 22. The MMP-11 expression is found more specifically in malignant tumors than in benign ones.
