Human Recombinant BMP2 (from E. coli)

Supplier: Prosci

Bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) is a member of the BMP subgroup of the TGF-beta superfamily. It plays a dominant role in embryonic dorsalventral patterning, organogenesis, limb bud formation and bone formation and regeneration. BMP-2 signals through heterodimeric complexes composed of a type I receptor (Activin RI, BMP-RIA or BMP-RIB) and a type II receptor (BMP-RII or Activin RIIB). BMP-2 induces chondrocyte proliferation, endochondral bone formation, longitudinal bone growth and bone and cartilage repair. It induces ectopic bone formation or calcification by promoting osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation in mesenchymal cells, stem cells and vascular smooth muscle cells. It also promotes the maintenance and repair of colonic epithelium, suppresses neuronal dopamine synthesis and release, induces apoptosis in medulloblastoma cells and is required for cardiac contractility.

Human Recombinant BMP3 (from E. coli)

Supplier: Prosci

TGF-β family members are key modulators of cell proliferation, differentiation, matrix synthesis, and apoptosis. As implied by their name, BMPs initiate, promote, and regulate the development, growth and remodeling of bone and cartilage. In addition to this role, BMPs are also involved in prenatal development and postnatal growth, remodeling and maintenance of a variety of other tissues and organs. BMP-3 is abundantly found in adult bone, and to a lesser extent fetal cartilage. BMP-3 inhibits osteogenesis and bone formation by activating a signaling cascade that antagonizes the signaling of pro-osteogenic BMPs. Recombinant human BMP-3 is a disulfide linked homodimeric protein that corresponds to residues 361 to 472 of the 472 amino acid BMP-3 precursor protein.

Human Recombinant BMP6 (from HEK293 cells)

Supplier: Prosci

TGF-β family members are key modulators of cell proliferation, differentiation, matrix synthesis, and apoptosis. As implied by their name, BMPs initiate, promote, and regulate the development, growth and remodeling of bone and cartilage. In addition to this role, BMPs are also involved in prenatal development and postnatal growth, remodeling and maintenance of a variety of other tissues and organs. Increasing evidence indicates that BMP-Smad signaling has a tumor suppressing activity and that BMPs can inhibit tumor growth. BMP-6 is abnormally expressed in breast cancer cell lines; however, its function in promoting breast cancer development is unknown. Recombinant human BMP-6 is a 26.2 kDa homodimeric glycoprotein consisting of two 117 amino acid subunits, which correspond to amino acid residues 397 to 513 of the full-length BMP-6 precursor.

Human Recombinant BMP-10 (from HEK293 cells)

Supplier: Peprotech

Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) constitute a subfamily within the TGF-β superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. Members of this superfamily are widely distributed throughout the body and are involved in diverse physiological processes during both pre- and postnatal life.  BMP-10 plays a crucial role in the development of the embryonic heart by acting to stimulate and maintain cardiomyocyte proliferation.  It can signal through various receptor complexes usually containing BMPR-1A, BMPR-1B, ALK1, ALK3, or ALK6. The interaction of BMP-10 with its specific receptors can induce signaling initiated by the phosphorylation of SMAD transcription factors, including SMAD1, SMAD5, or SMAD8, but can also induce SMAD independent processes.  BMP-10 is structurally related to BMP-9, and both can inhibit endothelial cell proliferation and migration. Recombinant Human BMP-10 is a 24.4 kDa homodimeric disulfide-linked protein consisting of two 108 amino acid subunits, which correspond to amino acid residues 317 to 424 of the full-length BMP-10 precursor.

Human;Mouse;Rat Recombinant BMP-2 (from E. coli)

Supplier: Peprotech

BMPs (Bone Morphogenetic Proteins) belong to the TGF-β superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. BMP-2 is a potent osteoinductive cytokine, capable of inducing bone and cartilage formation in association with osteoconductive carriers such as collagen and synthetic hydroxyapatite. In addition to its osteogenic activity, BMP-2 plays an important role in cardiac morphogenesis, and is expressed in a variety of tissues, including lung, spleen, brain, liver, prostate ovary and small intestine. The functional form of BMP-2 is a 26 kDa protein composed of two identical 114 amino acid polypeptide chains linked by a single disulfide bond. Each BMP-2 monomer is expressed as the C-terminal part of a precursor polypeptide, which also contains a 23 amino acid signal sequence for secretion, and a 259 amino acid propeptide. After dimerization of this precursor, the covalent bonds between the propeptide (which is also a disulfide-linked homodimer) and the mature BMP-2 ligand are cleaved by a furin-type protease. Recombinant Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2 is a 26.0 kDa homodimeric protein consisting of two 115 amino acid polypeptide chains.

Mouse Recombinant BMP Receptor IA

Supplier: Prosci

ALK-3 is a type I receptor for bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) which belong to the protein kinase superfamily, TKL Ser/Thr protein kinase family and TGFB receptor subfamily. The BMP receptors consists of the type I receptors BMPR1A and BMPR1B and the type I I receptor BMPR2. Seven known type I serine/threonine kinases and five mammalian type II serine/threonine kinase receptors function in TGF-beta superfamily signal transduction. The downstream molecules of the type I BMP receptors include the Smad (Smad1, 5 and 8) proteins that are phosphorylated in a ligand-dependent manner, and relay the BMP signal from the receptors to target genes in the nucleus. Type II receptors phosphorylate and activate type I receptors which autophosphorylate, then bind and activate SMAD transcriptional regulators. ALK-3 contains a GS domain and a protein kinase domain. ALK-3 is widely expressed. Defects in BMPR1A gene are a cause of a significant proportion of cases of Juvenile polyposis syndrome (JPS).

Anti-SMAD1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-SMAD1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

SMAD1 belongs to the SMAD family. SMAD proteins are signal transducers and transcriptional modulators that mediate multiple signaling pathways. SMAD1 mediates the signals of the bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs), which are involved in a range of biological activities including cell growth, apoptosis, morphogenesis, development and immune responses. In response to BMP ligands, SMAD1 can be phosphorylated and activated by the BMP receptor kinase. The phosphorylated form of SMAD1 forms a complex with SMAD4, which is important for its function in the transcription regulation. SMAD1 is a target for SMAD-specific E3 ubiquitin ligases, such as SMURF1 and SMURF2, and undergoes ubiquitination and proteasome-mediated degradation. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the SMAD, a family of proteins similar to the gene products of the Drosophila gene 'mothers against decapentaplegic' (Mad) and the C. elegans gene Sma.
