The Kjeldahl method is used for the quantitative determination of nitrogen contained in organic substances plus the nitrogen contained in the inorganic compounds ammonia and ammonium (NH3/NH4+) in all kinds of food or environment samples such as:
- Meat and related product such as sausages
- Grain and flour
- Cocoa
- Milk and related products (cheese and milk powder)
- Soil
- Water (waste and drinking) or effluents
