This chemotactic factor attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils and augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. It has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. It may be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis.
ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Neut: Use at a concentration of 0.5 ?g/ml. WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 5 ?g/ml. At a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 ?g/mL the antibody will allow visualization of 0.1 ?g/lane of human MCP1. Concentration of 5.0 ?g/mL will allow visualization of 50 ?g/lane of rabbit MCP1. Predicted molecular weight: 11 kDa. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
