About this item
VWR® polycarbonate resin is an amorphous engineering thermoplastic, characterized by outstanding mechanical, optical, electrical, and thermal properties.
- Highly durable
- Oustanding mechanical, optical, electrical, and thermal properties
- Ideal for organisms requiring large surface area-to-volume ratios
The Lexan® resins employed are environmentally conforming to flame retardancy, scratch resistance, toughness, heat resistance, weatherability, biocompatibility, optical quality, and compliance with stringent FDA and USP requirements.
These wide mouth polycarbonate bottles are engineered for applications including ultracentrifugation or culturing of microbes, plants, algae, and organisms requiring large surface area to volume ratios. As ultracentrifuge flasks, they withstand maximum speeds without leakage and are ideal for all GS3 rotors. Centrifuge bottles are used where relatively small amounts of solids are involved. The tight-fitting polypropylene screw cap reduces the possibility of aerosol escape.
These vessels are supplied aseptically clean and nonsterile. They are packaged and produced in a controlled cleanroom environment and do not require rinsing prior to first use. As such, this polycarbonate labware is a safe alternative to glass. Bottles are ideal for steam sterilization of all biologicals, liquids, reagents, media, buffers, and aqueous solutions. They withstand repeated autoclaving, and are optimal for all microbial culture media production and preparation of terminally sterile fluids.
