The Dark-Line etched hemacytometer is designed with an H-shaped moat that forms two counting areas, or plateaus
Contact between the flat, polished cover glass surface and the cover glass supports produces an exact volume of fluid over the counting area. The one-piece construction ensures long term durability and accurate measuring results.
Each plateau features enhanced Neubauer rulings. The loading side of each plateau features a "V" slash to facilitate filling and reduce the threat of overflow. The ruled surface rests 0.1 mm below the cover glass, limiting the volume of blood or fluid to 0.1 mm2 per square, and 0.00025 mm2 over each of the 400 squares.
