The earth acts like it has a huge bar magnet located at its center. This set contains a globe that is 110 mm wide with a magnet contained along its axis. The magnaprobe contains a small magnetthat is allowed to rotate on two axes. This set illustrates the path of the magnetic field along the surface of a globe. The closer to the poles, the steeper the angle of the magnetic field. This is useful in demonstrating the large magnetic field that exists on the earth.
