For the rapid measurement of 8-iso PGF2α from biological samples
- Measure 8-isoprostane, a biomarker of oxidative stress
- Assay 24 samples in triplicate or 36 samples in duplicate
- Measure 8-isoprostane levels down to 45 pg/ml
- Extremely rapid assay; get results in about 2 hours
- Alkaline phosphatase used as tracer
- 50% B/B0: 100-300 pg/ml
Cayman’s STAT-8-isoprostane ELISA is a competitive assay that permits the rapid measurement of 8-iso PGF2α from biological samples, requiring only 1 hour incubation and development times for each step. This assay format is similar to that employed in Cayman’s original 8-isoprostane ELISA (Item No. 516351) with the only change being the use of an alkaline phosphatase tracer in place of an AChE tracer. While Item No. 516351 offers superior sensitivity (IC50 = ~35 pg/ml), the STAT-8-isoprostane assay offers the convenience of a fast assay while still achieving an IC50 value of 180 pg/ml and a detection limit (80% B/B0) of approximately 45 pg/ml.
