The device is assembled by hydrophobic membranes with an aperture of 0.22 µm to avoid potential contamination in gas exchange. The device does not absorb cytokines and growth factors, and the conventional trypsin digestion method is applied in cell harvesting. Two 26 mm diameter filling ports allow direct access to the chamber bottom, providing greater flexibility for sterile filling and emptying by pouring, pipetting, or via tubing in a fully closed system.
