MAC Auger Electron Microscopy Standards, Electron Microscopy Sciences
Supplier: Electron Microscopy Sciences
MAC has developed multi-element blocks of reference materials suitable for the compilation of a reference library of Auger sensitivity factors when used with the Auger Electron Microscopy (AES). (Auger electron: one of the electrons ejected from an atom as a result of the internal conversion of its own X-ray in the auger effect. Auger effect: a process in which an atom singly ionized by emitting one electron with energy in the X-ray range instead of emitting the usual X-ray photon on recovery undergoes a transition in which a second electron is emitted).

Anti-LEP Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [clone: G1_4B6.3]
Supplier: Prosci
Leptin plays a critical role in the regulation of body weight by inhibiting food intake and stimulating energy expenditure. Defects in Leptin production cause severe hereditary obesity in rodents and humans. In addition to its effects on body weight, leptin has a variety of other functions, including the regulation of hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, wound healing, and the immune and inflammatory response. The Leptin gene is the human homolog of the gene (ob) mutant in the mouse 'obese' phenotype.

Anti-LRRC32 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (PE (Phycoerythrin)) [clone: GARP5]
Supplier: Tonbo Biosciences
The GARP5 antibody reacts with human GARP, also known as LRRC32 or Garpin, an 80 kDa transmembrane protein which acts as a receptor for the latent form of TGF-beta 1 (pro-TGF-beta), preventing its secretion. Specifically, GARP is reported to associate with the pro-domain of TGF-beta 1, known as latency-associated peptide (LAP), which must be cleaved to release the biologically active cytokine. The putative role of GARP in sequestering the TGF-beta is important for regulating its activity, as TGF-beta signaling is involved in development and function of Th17, Treg and many other immune cell types. GARP expression has been shown on platelets and at high levels on Foxp3+ Treg cells, where it is proposed to be a phenotypic identifier for activated human Treg cells.

Anti-ANP32E Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Prosci
PHAP III Antibody: Apoptosis is related to many diseases and development. Caspase-9 plays a central role in cell death induced by a variety of apoptosis activators. Cytochrome c, after released from mitochondria, binds to Apaf-1, which forms an apoptosome that in turn binds to and activate procaspase-9. Activated caspase-9 cleaves and activates the effector caspases (caspase-3, -6 and -7), which are responsible for the proteolytic cleavage of many key proteins in apoptosis. The tumor suppressor putative HLA-DR-associated proteins (PHAPs) were recently identified as important regulators of mitochondrion apoptosis. PHAP appears to facilitate apoptosome-medicated caspase-9 activation and to stimulate the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway. PHAP was also shown to oppose both Ras- and Myc-medicated cell transformation.

Anti-rh BDNF Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Biosensis
BDNF belongs to the neurotrophin family and regulates the survival and differentiation of neurons during development. The alterations in BDNF expression induced by various kinds of brain insult including stress, ischemia, seizure activity and hypoglycemia, may contribute to some pathologies such as depression, epilepsy, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's disease. Microglia release BDNF that may contribute to neuroinflammation and neuropathic pain. FUNCTION: Promotes the survival of neuronal populations that are all located either in the central nervous system or directly connected to it. Major regulator of synaptic transmission and plasticity at adult synapses in many regions of the CNS. The versatility of BDNF is emphasized by its contribution to a range of adaptive neuronal responses including long-term potentiation (LTP), long-term depression (LTD), certain forms of short-term synaptic plasticity, as well as homeostatic regulation of intrinsic neuronal excitability. SUBUNIT: Monomers and homodimers. Binds to NTRK2/TRKB. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted protein. Post Translation Modification (PTM): The propeptide is N-glycosylated and glycosulfated. PTM: Converted into mature BDNF by plasmin (PLG) (By similarity). DISEASE: Defects in BDNF are a cause of congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS); also known as congenital failure of autonomic control or Ondine curse. CCHS is a rare disorder characterized by abnormal control of respiration in the absence of neuromuscular or lung disease, or an identifiable brain stem lesion. A deficiency in autonomic control of respiration results in inadequate or negligible ventilatory and arousal responses to hypercapnia and hypoxemia. CCHS is frequently complicated with neurocristopathies such as Hirschsprung disease that occurs in about 16% of CCHS cases. SIMILARITY: Belongs to the NGF-beta family.

Anti-IL6 Chicken Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Genetex
Interleukin 6 (IL6) is a multifunctional 24 kD protein originally discovered in the medium of RNA stimulated fibroblastoid cells. It is upregulated by IL1, TNF, PDGF, IFN beta, TNF alpha, NGF, IL17 and downregulated by glucocorticoids IL4, TGF beta. IL6 appears to be directly involved in the responses that occur after infection and cellular injury, and it may prove to be as important as IL1 and TNF alpha in regulating the acute phase response. IL6 has also been implicated in regulating adipose mass. IL6 is reported to be produced by fibroblasts, activated T cells, activated monocytes or macrophages and endothelial cells. It acts upon a variety of cells including fibroblasts, myeloid progenitor cells, T cells, B cells and hepatocytes. In addition, IL6 appears to interact with IL2 in the proliferation of T lymphocytes. IL6 potentiates the proliferative effect of IL3 on multipotential hematopoietic progenitors.

Anti-ZFYVE26 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Prosci
SPG15 Antibody: Hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSPs) are genetically and phenotypically heterogeneous disorders. Spastic paraplegia with thinning of the corpus callosum (ARHSP-TCC) is a relatively frequent form of complicated hereditary spastic paraplegia in which mental retardation and muscle stiffness at onset are followed by slowly progressive paraparesis and cognitive deterioration. SPG15 is the second gene known to be responsible for ARHSP-TCC in the Italian population. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia-15. SPG15 encodes a protein containing a FYVE zinc finger binding domain which is thought to target these proteins to membrane lipids through interaction with phospholipids in the membrane. SPG15 mRNA is widely distributed in human tissues, as well as in rat embryos, suggesting a possible role for this protein during embryonic development. SPG15 co-localizes partially with endoplasmic reticulum and endosome markers, suggesting a role in intracellular trafficking.
