VWR® Squibb Seperating funnels are made from Borosilicate 3.3 glass, ASTM 438, Type 1, Class A standard

Funnels have a squibb-shaped body with a joint to accommodate a glass stopper at top, a PTFE plug at the middle, and a drain tip at the bottom. The stopcocks on different sized separating funnels have different bore size and type. The purpose of separating funnel is to create the maximum possible intermingling of two layers, then to allow them to separate. Specifications and standards for separating funnels are defined in the standard specifications and practices: ASTM E1096, ISO 4800.

These funnels are used for the separation of two liquids that do not dissolve in each other.
