About this item

Low-EDTA 1X, pH 8.0 is molecular biology grade TE buffer used to store DNA and RNA. EDTA chelates Mg2+ and other divalent metals ions - (inhibits DNAse and RNAse to suppress DNA and RNA degradation).

  • With 0.1 mM EDTA
  • Filtered through a 0.1 µm membrane
  • DNase, RNase, and Protease tested

Tris is a buffering agent to keep the solution at a defined pH - The 'Cl' or 'HCl' indicates the pH was attained using aqueous hydrochloric acid (HCl), since Tris is naturally basic. Tris–EDTA (TE) is routinely used for suspending nucleic acid samples.

Low EDTA is recommended to re-suspend final purified DNA when DNA is used for downstream PCR.

Certifications: Manufactured under a cGMP compliant quality management system in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility.
