Clear and colorless, medium is formulated from high-quality advanced acrylic resins. It dries rapidly and does not become brittle and crack or discolor with age. Preserves original slide specimen quality almost indefinitely. Slides mounted with this medium will not stick together, and it can be dissolved in toluene or xylene if tissue requires remounting. Available in two viscosities: Cytoseal™ 60 for use with cover glass, and Cytoseal™ 280 for thicker coating or minimal spreading.
- All paraffins melt between 55° and 57 °C and are triple filtered to 0.5 µm
- Flake form has a greater surface-to-weight ratio than pellets
- Faster melting time
- Type 1 contains no polymer and offers rapid infiltration
- Type 3 contains minimal polymer and offers fast infiltration
- Type 6 is harder than Type 3 and allows for thinner sections
- Type 9 has the highest polymer content available and yields extremely thin sections
