About this item
ERp57, also known as GRP58, was cloned by three independent labs, all of which reported that the gene encodes a 505-amino acid protein that shares significant homology with the molecular chaperone protein disulfide isomerase (PDI). The ERp57 sequence was also shown to include a putative nuclear localization motif and an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) retention motif. Studies have shown that ERp57 functions together with calnexin and calreticulin as a molecular chaperone of glycoprotein biosynthesis within the ER.
IP: Use at a concentration of 10 ?g/ml. WB: Use at a concentration of 0.5 ?g/ml. This concentration is sufficient for the detection of ERp57 in 20?g of HeLa heat shocked cell lysate by colorimetric analysis. Predicted molecular weight: 61 kDa. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
