About this item
Calcitonin is a peptide hormone synthesized by the parafollicular cells of the thyroid. It causes a rapid, but short lived, reduction in serum calcium and phosphate by promoting the incorporation of those ions in the bones. This effect is opposite to that of parathyroid hormone.
For ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Can be used as a detection antibody in an ELISA pair with GTX11497 (capture). For WB (reducing): Use at an assay dependent dilution. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher.
