About this item
Carbon fiber composite rotors weigh half that of equivalent aluminum rotors
- Lightweight
- Fast acceleration and deceleration
- 65% carbon fiber
Rotors are 65% carbon fiber (embedded in inert epoxy resin) for increased strength, low weight, and high resistance to corrosion, heat, fatigue, and other environmental influences. Insulative properties eliminate necessity of precooling step.
Rotors are supplied with factory-installed centrifuge-specific hub for maximum compatibility with most centrifuges. Rotors accept standard bottles and tubes as used in equivalent metallic rotors. They can be washed and soaked in a wide variety of laboratory detergents, and are autoclavable, cold room compatible, and highly resistant to radiolabel contamination.
Light weight allows for easier handling and reduced risk of lower back injury due to lifting. Rotors also reduce wear and tear on centrifuge drive system and decrease maintenance costs. Faster acceleration and deceleration make total run times 40% shorter for larger rotors.
