About this item
This apparatus is designed for the U.S.E.P.A
“Priority Pollutant” analysis using Method 625 (base neutrals/acid extractables). The apparatus accommodates a one liter sample, and approximately 200 mL of a heavier-than-water extracting solvent, such as methylene chloride. It features an extractor body designed to accept a common condenser with a [ST] 45/50 joint. There a [ST] 24/40 joint opening with a PTFE stopper near top of body for addition of reagents, and a 1:5 PTFE 2 mm bore stopcock near the bottom for draining. A flattened body bottom allows the use of a magnetic stirring bar (optional) to enhance the extraction of compounds from the sample. Hose connections on the condenser are for use with 3/8" or 7/16" I.D. tubing. Fabricated from borosilicate glass.
