About this item

CHEMetrics’ zinc test kits determine soluble zinc in drinking water and wastewater.

  • Premixed
  • Premeasured
  • Precise

Zinc reacts with the reagent zincon in a buffered alkaline solution to form a blue complex. Interference from other heavy metals can be eliminated by the addition of cyanide. However, for safety, cyanide has not been included in the reagent formulation. Results are expressed as ppm (mg/L)

The USEPA has established a Maximum Secondary Drinking Water Standard of 5 mg/L for zinc.

Ordering information: This kit requires the use of a CHEMetrics Direct-Readout Photometer or a spectrophotometer capable of accepting a 13 mm diameter round cell. Instrument sold separately.
Delivery: Kit comes in a cardboard box and contains everything needed to perform 30 tests: thirty ampoules, Indicator Solution, 25 mL sample cup, ampoule blank, and instructions.
