The UVP GelStudio PLUS touch and non-touch are gel documentation systems which use a 12 MP camera for high sensitivity imaging for DNA gels, protein gels, Coomassie Blue, GelGreen, SYBR Green and a wide range of genomic applications.

This stand-alone system is also available as an external computer version of the UVP GelStudio PLUS for those laboratories with particular IT/computer restrictions. This touch system ensures an enhanced gel imaging experience by utilizing a large 15.6” integrated touch screen computer. Both include a unique Slide2Hide door for easy access to the interior of the darkroom and a compact Thin-Line Transilluminator.

Designed for laboratory efficiency and ease-of-use, the integrated 15.6” touch-screen computer allows clear visuals of faint bands and finer details of gel images. Multi-tasking is easier to perform on a wide screen allowing for multiple windows and files to be open. Large icons make workflow efficient. Additionally, the computer has 500GB of hardware capacity to store large amounts of images, templates, and data. 7 USB ports are available for the use of keyboard, mouse and other accessories. A stylus is included for simple and precise control.

The darkroom features a Thin-Line Transilluminator in a slide-out tray for easy access. This Thin-Line Transilluminator has uniform and high-intensity UV lighting in a compact form. Designed with long-life UV lamps for minimum service requirements and a wide imaging area of 25 x 26 cm, allowing for the imaging of multiple gels, various gel sizes and several colony plates. The highest regard is given for UV safety and protection. The integrated UV Protection Shield maximizes protection from UV radiation in working over the UV transillumination surface when the darkroom door is open. Additionally, the systems are equipped with a red UV On indicator light to alert the users of the presence of UV light.

All darkroom features are software controlled through VisionWorks® acquisition and analysis software package, drastically improving workflow in laboratories. VisionWorks® software has been updated to work with a touchscreen or mouse, and includes Action templates a new feature to the VisionWorks® package. Action templates allow users to set the darkroom and camera settings to quickly and easily capture a wide range of samples with a single touch or click. VisionWorks® includes a preinstalled complement of common Actions that may be customized with ease. The Action script editor allows for actions to be created, edited or deleted, giving complete control over the order and operation of the darkroom.

Advanced technical specifications and capabilities. High resolution and light sensitivity is achieved with a 12 megapixel camera and an automated zoom lens for close-up image capture.

With the addition of accessories and lighting filters the UVP GelStudio PLUS imagers can be expanded to perform a wide range of applications. UVP Visi-White™ LED Plates are easily plugged in for Coomassie blue, Silver Stains, etc. Use a UVP Visi-Blue Converter Plate for blue excitation applications (460-470nm).
