About this item

Sklar's Walton Plaster Spreader is a specialty instrument used for spreading apart and removing the hard casing of plaster or fiberglass casting material once it has been cut and prepared for removal. Standard instrumentation is not appropriate for use with these hardened materials, as they may be damaged or inadequate.

The Walton Plaster Spreader is straight with a single spring-loaded plier handle

The tip consists of three, flat, side by side blades. The two outside blades are horizontally serrated on one side and move in the same direction when the handle is compressed. The third, middle blade, also horizontally serrated on the opposite side, moves in the opposite direction. The blades are inserted in their closed position where the cut has been made in the casting material, and when the user squeezes the handles together, the blades open. This causes the cast to open more to a point where it can manually be split and removed completely.
