About this item
Ghrelin is the ligand for growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR) and upon binding to the receptor it induces the release of growth hormone from the pituitary. This ligand has an appetite-stimulating effect and is involved in growth regulation (Ref: SWISSPROT).
The antibody reacts with human Ghrelin and has been specifically tested in ELISA against the peptide. The epitope used to make this antibody bridges between the signal peptide and active Ghrelin proteins thus it will detect both pro and active Ghrelin proteins in ELISA
