About this item
Oncostatin M (OSM) is a member of interleukin-6 family cytokines that modulates proliferation and differentiation in numerous cells . OSM signals via a receptor complex comprising gp130 and the OSMR (also refered to as OSMRβ) . OSMR is a single-pass membrane protein which belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. OSMR mRNA is expressed at relatively high levels in all neural cells as well as fibroblast, epithelial and a variety of tumor cell lines . It has also been shown that OSMR associates with IL31RA to form the heterodimeric IL31 receptor .
