What can urine tell us?
In this lab activity, students will employ Life Science Standard (LS1) to explore the various substances that may be present in a sample of urine. Students will study artificial urine samples with Vitamin C, phosphates, glucose, and albumin. The students' understanding of these activities will allow them to understand how examining urine is a way to gauge a person's health and detect disease.
This kit has been aligned with all published National Standards. Pre- and Post-laboratory assessments and vocabulary words all target specific "Did You Know" concepts that link the real world with the scientific standards explored. Astudent copymaster is also included. Materials included for 5 groups of students.
